    There's enough stress on departments and on recruit's around academy time. Let us take the "stress" out of your hands...  If you would like to outfit your recruit ('s) for all of their academy needs, please advise us as soon as possible so that we can have your needs and theirs completed on time.

Uniform: Each student will report for class dressed in the following uniform:
   

 

Light gray, short sleeve 2-pocket with flaps work shirt (not dress or uniform) with departmental patch sewn on right sleeve only.

Sewn above the right (as worn) pocket flap will be a black canvas name tape, measuring 1” wide and extending the length of the pocket flap. The recruits last name will be centered and embroidered in white lettering ¾” of an inch in height.

(Identical short sleeve shirt will be worn beginning in the Spring.)

Plain silver tie bar

Black leather police/military type shoes, highly polished

Black socks

Mustache allowed; no other facial hair permitted

 

 Equipment required for Basic Recruit School 

 

Duty belt and duty holster as issued by department with a "RED" training handgun (same as departmental issue model)

Handcuffs           

Four 2-inch by 2-inch passport type photographs, taken in gray uniform shirt

Department overcoat and raincoat if issued

Black waist length jacket, no markings or patches NO leather jackets

Black bag-plain, no markings, approx. 24” long x 12” wide/for books, equipment, etc.

Reflective traffic vest

An extra pair of grey utility pants for DT/Interactive Training (to allow for duty belt usage)

Sweatshirt - grey, crew neck, with recruit’s last name stenciled in black 2-inch block letters across the shoulders

Sweatpants – grey

Tee shirts – Two crew neck, navy blue, with recruit’s last name stenciled in white 2-inch block letters across the shoulders

Running sneakers, white (or mostly white with some blue allowed) and white socks

Plain solid grey gym/athletic type shorts with the length just above the knee

Plain solid navy blue swimming attire; trunks (no briefs) for males; 1 piece for females

Police baton with ring for belt

Two loose-leaf binders – black – 3 ring style, 3-inch
